Fire Cadet Board Chair

We are inviting expressions of interest to take up the role of the National Fire Cadet Board Chair.

The current Chair is standing down after 4 years.

This is an established position that offers the opportunity to set the strategic direction of National Fire Cadets. The role involves becoming the Chairperson of the National Fire Cadets Board where you will be responsible for the Boards composition and continued development.

You will have the opportunity to be the leading representative for National Fire Cadets, presenting the aims and achievements to the outside world and within government. In addition as the Chairperson of the board you would be a member of the NFCC Children and young person’s Executive Board. The Executive Board, chaired by CFO Phil Garrigan the NFCC CYP Lead, oversees the children and young person’s programme and influences the development and progress of the projects and business as usual models.

It would be beneficial to have a thorough understanding of the existing Fire Cadet National Framework but it is not essential. More importantly the desire to help young people to be the best they can be will be one of the main drivers for this role.

The successful candidate will be supported by a full time member of staff working within the NFCC CYP team in order that they have the resources to make a difference.

This is a voluntary position undertaken alongside your day job

If you are interested in this role please send a short expression of interest to CFO Phil Garrigan at philgarrigan@merseyfire.gov.uk before 28th August 2020
