About Capita Fire & Rescue

Capita is a consulting, digital services and software business, delivering innovative solutions and simplifying the connections between businesses and customers, governments and citizens. It comprises 6 divisions and one of those is Government Services which is delivering and transforming technology-enabled business services, including the operation of large, complex contracts.

Within Government Services, a key market sector is defence. In 2019 Capita Fire and Rescue (CFR), a business unit within Capita’s Government Services division, began the delivery of the Defence Fire and Rescue Project (DFRP) - a first generation outsource of components of the MOD's Defence Fire and Rescue capability. DFRP is Government Service’s main Defence contract, but the market sector has ambitions to expand with further contracts. Under the terms of a contract with the Ministry of Defence, CFR is managing the existing provision of Defence’s fire and rescue services and transforming these services by delivering a solution that increases the safety of firefighters, reduces the risk of incidents occurring and minimises the impact when an incident does occur.

CFR provides and manages fire and rescue services at 53 MOD fire stations located predominantly in the UK and has approximately 650 employees. We are also responsible for the conduct of centralised fire and rescue training, implementation of a suite of fire risk management products and the delivery of a fire prevention agenda across the MOD's estate.
