Fire Safety – Substantive Watch Manager A and B transfer opportunity
 (Specialist/Command Based Fire Safety Roles)

Opportunities have arisen for external high performing Grey Book employees to transfer in to WMFS as a Fire Safety Inspecting Officer combining a Specialist and Command Based Role.  All applicants will be expected to develop and obtain the WM7 elements of the role to provide operational cover as required.

You will need an excellent understanding of the organisational strategy. You will be expected to support and positively promote the strategy of the organisation both internally and externally. 

You will be able to demonstrate that you are change ready with a supportive understanding of the impact of change on teams and individuals. You will promote a positive and inclusive team culture, enabling others to maximise their full potential to be as efficient and effective as possible by creating the right environment in the workplace. 

Your role as a Fire Safety Inspecting Officer will be to enforce The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, deliver Protection priorities, and support businesses through Better Regulation.  

You will need to be flexible and agile, responding to emerging opportunities in line with strategic objectives of the organisation. You will need to be forward thinking and able to contribute to individual and team goals. It is expected that you will be able to remain calm in high pressure situations, making sound decisions based on applicable guidance and legislation.

This role attracts an essential user’s allowance and therefore a full driving licence and own vehicle will be required.
