Research and Compliance Project Officer - Avon Fire & Rescue Service (REF: RCPO:AFRS)

Contract: Fixed term appointment for 6 months, with the possibility of extension or permanency Hours: 37 hours per week Salary: Hay 9 (£22,183 - £25,481)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Research and Compliance Project Officer to join our Technical Services Unit in order to undertake National Operational Guidance (NatOG) project work in line with the strategic aim and objectives of the organisation.

Working under the guidance of the Technical Services Station Manager, you will identify, progress and resolve identified gaps in the publications library, specifically for appliances and equipment. Using the relevant template, review and convert current publications in line with NatOG Framework.

Within this role you will pro-actively research and consider any potential drivers or impacts from national and regional initiatives, working groups, bodies and organisations, which could inform or influence the project. You will also be responsible for informing and supporting any learning regarding equipment, ensuring it is aligned to the NatOG Programme within the service.

The successful candidate must have effective skills in research, report writing, presentation and influencing. You will have a key eye for detail with strong communication and problem-solving skills. At times this role may have conflicting priorities, therefore, you will need to be able to plan, prioritise and organise your own workload.

It is essential that you are IT literate, able to use a range of software packages, and hold a current driving licence and/or have the ability to travel between work locations.
