The NFCC Improvement Committee is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person, who currently works at middle or strategic level, to undertake the role of HMICFRS Fire Inspection Liaison Officer.

Whilst the role is voluntary and will be in addition to your existing duties within your Service, it is a great opportunity to work collaboratively at a National level gaining exposure to HMICFRS including a full understanding of how the inspection process works now and how it will develop in the future.

Sabrina Cohen-Hatton, the workstream lead, is keen to hear from individuals who want to broaden their understanding of the wider Fire and Rescue Service and its operating environment.

The NFCC would especially welcome applications from staff who have worked closely with HMICFRS either as a Service Liaison Officer or previously been on secondment as an inspector.

The successful applicant will work alone, although in conjunction with the Implementation Support Team, and will attend the Improvement Committee, reporting directly to Sabrina Cohen-Hatton and will be responsible for liaising with HMICFRS SLOs in order to assist Services in preparing for inspections, collaborating and learning from ongoing and completed inspections.

The role will include being a focal point for SLO’s across the country and working in conjunction with HMICFRS to organise related collaboration events.

Please send initial expressions of interest (500 words maximum) to Sabrina.cohen-hatton@westsussex.gov.uk. Please include details of your relevant skills, knowledge and experience, and be sure to explain what you feel you would be able to bring to the role.

Prior to submitting your application please obtain approval from your line manager to take up this role should you be successful.
