NFCC Chair

 Mark Hardingham is the Chair of the NFCC. He is supported by two Vice Chairs; Phil Loach (West Midlands Fire Service Chief Fire Officer) and Huw Jakeway (South Wales CFO).  

Two new vice chairs will take on the role, following approval at May's NFCC Council meeting. The incoming vice chairs are Phil Garrigan (CFO, Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service) and Justin Johnston (CFO,Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service).

Chair's remuneration

  • Basic Salary £129,561
  • Vehicle allowance £6,146
  • Honorarium £13,239
  • NFCC meets the cost of a telephone
  • Other travel and subsistence will be paid for in accordance with policies
  • The Board of Trustees' Performance Committee manage the performance of the NFCC Chair

The Chair is supported by a Chief of Staff, seconded on a part-time basis. The Chief of Staff oversees the day-to-day management of the organisation and oversees the governance arrangements for NFCC and the CFOA Board of Trustees. 

Corporate support services are provided by West Midlands Fire Service; the Central Programme Office (CPO) is based in London Fire Brigade and National Resilience management is provided by Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service.
