NFCC Road Safety

NFCC's Road Safety Group (RSG) support fire and rescue services (FRS) across the United Kingdom in reducing fatalities and serious injuries on the roads through collaborative work with partner agencies and support and facilitate innovation and road safety education across both the FRS and partner agencies.

NFCC support a number of road safety campaigns and encourage fire services to do so based on local and regional need. To ensure support for fire and rescue service road safety initiatives and to support the work of other organisations, NFCC produces the National Roads Partnership Calendar alongside the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) and the National Roads Policing Intelligence Forum (NRPIF).

 NFCC campaign resources

Work is progressing to develop NFCC's road safety campaigns to encourage people to be #BeRoadAware which ensure FRS have consistent safety messaging and to supplement any existing FRS road safety campaigns or for those services that have do not have the resource to develop their own assets.

Cheshire Road Safety Group developed 'Share The Road' resources. The campaign promotes road safety for everyone, while trying to change attitudes among road users, motivating them to be kind and considerate to each other.

  • Everyone has the right to use the roads safely, regardless of how they chose to travel.
  • Look out for one another to help keep each other safe on the roads.
  • It is important that we all share the road and are courteous to each other.
  • Everyone is human with a story to tell. Be kind and considerate to each other.
