NFCC Chair pays tribute to His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh

Chair of the National Fire Chiefs Council, Mark Hardingham, expressed his sympathy: “I am greatly saddened to hear about the passing of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

“Prince Philip served our country for more than seventy years and played a pivotal role with the Royal Family, working tirelessly for our country, the Royal Family and supporting Her Majesty the Queen.

“I would like to pass on my sincere condolences – and those of all UK Fire and Rescue Services - to the Queen and the Royal Family at this very sad time.

“All Fire and Rescue Services will adopt national protocols to pay tribute and show our combined respects to the Duke during this time of national mourning. Referred to as the Queen’s ‘strength and stay’ we will honour his memory, while remembering with pride all the invaluable work he undertook.”
