NFCC Lead - Productivity and Efficiency

We are seeking a Brigade Manager (or equivalent) for a new NFCC lead role to take ownership of the NFCC and FRS work to develop a stronger case to support and evidence a more productive and efficient FRS.

The role, NFCC Lead for Productivity and Efficiency (P&E), will report into the NFCC Sector Resources and Improvement Committee chaired by Chris Strickland (CFO, Cambridgeshire FRS).

Key requirements of the role will be to create and lead a P&E team of NFCC and FRS colleagues. The team will support key work on developing a comprehensive approach to demonstrating the work of NFCC and FRS on securing Productivity and Efficiency to inform wider work across the UK FRS, including with Governments and external partners such as HMI and the LGA.

The successful applicant will represent the NFCC, along with the NFCC Chair and other NFCC leads at meetings related to FRS P&E. These meetings will inform spending reviews and other work. There will also be a need to lead the development of a body of P&E data, evidence and case studies to support the NFCC and FRSs.

Whilst sitting under the Sector Resources and Improvement Committee, the role will link to the wider work of NFCC committees, programmes and projects that include a P&E theme, such as finance, working patterns, economic and social value of fire, protection audits, commercial and procurement, return on investment tools and others.

There will also be a requirement to link the role to similar work that is currently underway in Policing and with other organisations. The NFCC lead will be asked to explore and promote different models and tools that support P&E in FRS.
